Blog No. 016: Thanksgiving In 2021

Hello there loves. Welcome to another blog of mine. I do hope that most of you as doing well. These past few weeks have been rather quiet. My sister is at her job to work as a truck driver. Since my return after the entire month of October being spent on watching the kids, it's been quite boring, but also quiet and peaceful, just as nature intended on my end.

It is now Thanksgiving week. If I don't recall, I'm pretty sure that most of the schools right here in Kentucky are pretty much going to be closed down for Thanksgiving week. This also includes my niece's school for the time being but I'm not so sure about daycare though. Fast forward to 3 weeks later, the father (who I'll go by "K", due to obvious reasons) has went on to the field in fort Campbell for some training or pretty much doing some short-term military drills over the next course of days.

The little ones came by Thursday evening and originally they were supposed to be picked up from me yesterday (November 21, 2021) buddy called me telling me that he is somewhat "tired". ($5 say he's lying between his teeth). I also like to inform that I met a new friend, who's name is Nat. She pretty much picked me up from Kroger's the other week before I watch the kids.

She was kind enough to actually offer me a ride and I even gave her my number but I think she gave me hers as well. She has a fiance named "J" and right now they're pretty much in some kind of bind days later when she contacted me about wanting me to keep an eye on her dog named Nature.

A big white, female pitbull with so much hyperactive energy, which is definitely more than enough to keep the kids at bay but it looks to me like Betsy really isn't fond of dogs. (It would be nice if dogs and cats can actually get along but then Betsy's case, that's definitely easier said than done)

So I offered to help out taking care of the dog just long enough until Nat was able to take her a situation completed. In the meantime I was also babysitting the kids as well while K was off on his drills for the weekend. (from November 18th to 21st)

I'm not exactly sure when that was supposed to come get her dog but I do know that well that the kids will return to their dad first thing Monday morning. I can definitely deal with animals, but hyperactive kids can sometimes be a hassle, especially when they're siblings. I'm pretty sure we all go for such a thing like that in our lives when your own brother or sisters the only friend you have.

Now on to the part about Thanksgiving, I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to be doing on that time and I know for the record that I cannot cook a Thanksgiving turkey to save my own damn life lol. I mean, I could definitely make some pretty mean ham and I'm pretty sure I can look up some decent Thanksgiving recipes. I know for the fact that my one-bedroom apartment is too small to have a massive Thanksgiving feast so the best thing I could do is just order me some doordash Thanksgiving meals.

If I didn't know better, I'm pretty sure this year's Thanksgiving is going to be (well, not a) complete buzzkill due to the pandemic and all. The best thing I can tell you all for those who are reading my blog as the improvise and, hopefully in love ones know a thing or two about video chat through Facebook or any other source of social media. If some are willing to travel to see you for Thanksgiving, then that means they're doing their job pretty damn well and if they can't make it, don't hold it so bad towards them. I'm pretty sure they want to be at the family feast if they could.

Try not to get too full on turkey and ham when Thanksgiving arrives. And I'm pretty sure that you all saw the Christmas decorations that were put up about weeks after Halloween. So I may have to ask you this: what are you truly thankful for? Me? I'm thankful that I still have a loving family. I am thankful just to be alive after 30 years. I'm still thankful that I'm doing all I can to live out my best life.

For those of you who are reading this, I'm not so sure if it's early or late on your part, but I would definitely would love to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Keep on living your best life and let no naysayers bring you down. Keep your head up high and walk tall like it's no one's business.

This is the lovely Crimson Nightfox, wishing you all a very good morning or good night, depending on the time zone you're in.
